Great looking water, looked a bit fresher and with a bit more water on than a few weeks back on our last visit to the Wye.
Fished the top end of the beat in the morning, a good Chub landed first then a barbel of 6lb 10oz two further barbel hooked and lost. A number of smaller chub landed. Most taken on sweetcorn.
The other fish was a big dace on meat.
Moved to the other end of the beat mid afternoon and caught a good number of chub up to 1lb one decent fish hocked and lost. Slightly strange day, out of practice ?

Spent the second day like the first, a lot of effort, but not much reward. Using the usual float or ledger tactics

Didn't fish, as threat of thunderstorms allied to the river conditions from yesterday.

Only one rod today and caught 7 chub from the beach area. River really low, hot and sunny and difficult conditions but an enjoyable day nevertheless.

Considering the lack of rain the river had good pace and looked pretty good. Overcast conditions all day. Barbel up to 9lb 6oz caught mainly on the evening with some chub up to around 2lb 8oz. Pellets and feeder with loose feeding hemp did the trick. Overall a nice day out on another beautiful section of the Wye.
