Great beat. Left at 4pm to watch the England Germany match (fantastic result) so I think I would have more fish.
I am concerned about the River Wye, no weed on the beats I fished and I saw no swans with signets. The catch returns are low compared to previous years. Even the chub are seem to be less abundant, despite reports from other beats.

First time on the stretch and had a brilliant day. Parking and access to the river was very good. River was low and clear,we managed to unhook and photograph fish without taking them onto the bank which was nice. Fished the bottom swim using 3oz cage feeders,3 of the barbel caught were around 6lb with one smaller fish,a few decent chub caught to around 5lb. Steady canoe traffic passed throughout the day but they were no bother. Will definitely look at returning in the future!

Our first time at Wyebank. River was a bit lowish, looks like a good fly water. Notable difference with Middle Wye as this has bed rock which can trap bait feeders. Met the fishery owner who gave some useful guidance, many thanks. Tried Halibut pellets but not a touch, changed to luncheon meat and we were in. We only had a small tin so went to the local shop who helped out.
Barbel were very strong for their size, two chub were over 5lb. The take was very tentative, wait for the rod to bend and you had lost it. Hold the line and strike on a tremor and your were in. Lovely day, thanks to Fishery owner and W & U. Roger & Callum from Tring & Ludlow.

Arrived at 6am. First time here, lovely parking area. The river was low and fast and sparkling, looked amazing. Perfect beat to get my new Vision waders out. Access was excellent down to the river and along the rocks. Really beautiful peaceful place, plenty of bird life too. Spent a splendid day stood in the river at various sections, moving around. Caught fish all day on float fished meat but most caught on rolled flavoured meat. Super method when low and clear stood in the river. Carefully handlined all the fish without lifting from water, holding them to recover and off they went. Biggest Barbel around 7lb and Chub to 5lb. Canoe traffic was not a problem and everyone was polite, great to see the youngsters back doing their adventures. Cracking day to kick start the new season off. Thanks WUF for access to a truly picturesque venue.
