Last time I fished here it was incredible , the best day on the Wye I've ever had , still not topped it for numbers of fish , Not the case this time , I had nothing all day , the Wye really is not fishing great at the moment , this dry month we've had hasn't helped , I know it'll improve .
There is still some good fishing to be had on the Wye , just read the feedback and see where's good , if your lucky enough to find a booking !

River slightly up and running after Fridays rain. Fished the bottom pool and caught in the faster water with feeder and krill pellets. Fish from a pound to 6 lbs with one over 9 lbs. Canoes not a problem as they kept to the far side of river.
Great days fishing

12 hour session mainly on bottom pool. Overcast mainly. Pellet accounted for all fish which were caught in faster water. Most fish were in the 1 to 3lb bracket and came around mid-afternoon but biggest barbel (5lb) caught early evening. Lost around 10 feeders/leads/rigs in either weed or rocks but c'est la vie with Wye barbel angling.
Nephew had a debut barbel with first cast and the 5 pounder late in the day - a good way to finish the session.

Usual feeder methods used. Fished throughout day but canoeist very inconsiderate. The best fish came to pellets as the bright conditions faded.

River low as expected, day overcast with sunny periods at times. Two of us fished the bottom pool and had 25 small barbel , up to about two pounds on pellet, some bigger fish were lost. Bites came all day on feeder and some were taking the bait just as the feeder was settling. The other in our party fished the salmon crib on the wyebank pool and had 4 small barbel 1 chub and two eels also on pellets. The only downside was that although there were paths to the various pegs, we found it a lot more strenuous than we had expected ( two over 60 and one over 70). Perhaps we will seriously have to reduce the amount of tackle we carry on future occasions. All in all a very enjoyable day.
