Great days fishing , not the big haul of barbel we had here last bank holiday but a few thrown in for good measure. All chub were pretty hefty , biggest weighing in at 4.5 lb . A fair few fish lost due to the snaggy nature of this beat . If you take some studded waders you can retrieve your jammed rigs as it’s quite shallow here.

I recommend going Monday to Thurs here as it’s much quieter with canoe traffic . Lots of capsized boats and people getting stuck in the rocks right in front of you ! These idiots are completely ignoring the advice given to them in their brief just moments before this happens. I saw groups being briefed here about the rapids and the rocks and we’re told to keep to the right . They don’t listen !

Be aware of these morons and try your hardest to alert them. Luckily it calmed down around 2pm leaving us to enjoy the rest of our afternoon. This aside it’s still a great place to fish

2nd day on the bottom pool. Some nice chub today to 5lb along with small barbel to same size. Had 2 canoeists walk a sunken boat through the swim lol. I told them they were supposed to get in it but they didn't see funny side.

Great day all fish from bottom pool. Fish were all small upto 5lb but the river looked in fine form with tuns of fry and various wildlife. Cleared up all litter from previous anglers in the swim.

Another lovely day on the wye, weather not great water was higher than usual and running fast, struggled to find the fish but did have a few. As usual the acces on this beat is fantastic will be back again in a week to try again. Did manage to catch 3 canoes also managed to fall in and lose my wedding ring, not very popular when I got home. But still a great day and cannot wait to comeback next week.

River was up a little, getting to the edge is a nightmare and it might have to be the last time I fish this beat. Lost a lot of gear as well
