Another scorcher today ! Tricky fishing , was hoping to bag up but very slow , a few chub and a barbel to keep me on the edge ,
Evening produced the best sport as you’d expect , famous for its smaller barbel I did manage to whip out a few over 3lb so happy with that . Always a pleasure to be here another great day !

I only fished from 5 pm till 8pm, pretty much solid from the off, caught on feeder & float, best time to visit this beat, very little canoe traffic!

A fantastic morning and evening. River low with a tinge of colour. Fish ranged from 1/2 lb to 5lb+ in both species. All fish in great condition with lots of year classes. Float fished meat using a stepped up float rod and centre pin.

Oddest day I've ever had fishing the Wye. Started at 06.30 trotting, despite trying a few good looking spots only one bite and small chub to show for my efforts. At 10.00 switched to feeder tactics and had 4 eels before I left at midday as number of canoeists, paddle boarders was a bit too much. Came back at 17.00 and fished until 21.00 in a variety of different swims on the beat and no matter what bait I used managed to catch another 10 eels? I did stop using meat on the hook at one point, this slowed their interest but they still took pellets and paste wrapped boilies. Even swims in the fast water it was only eels that were interested. Not the day I expecting but always nice to be on bank.

Only fished till 10am! Never packed in on a day out before but today was utterly awful! The fishing was just starting to look good for the day then the armada started. In 20 years of fishing the Wye i've never seen so many people in kayaks, sib, sup boards, swimming, loud music, abusive, ignorant humans.... even a polite couple that came past paddling said they weren't enjoying the day! I honestly think the days of fishing the Wye are over for me! Dreadful ????
