River level was quite low and slow. Crystal clear water. Wildlife in abundance! Kingfishers (3 at once), a family of mink (5 or 6) tumbling and playing not 25 feet away on the other river bank, song thrush. Caught a 9 inch trout in one of the deep pools - they were chasing the nymph on the retrieve. Stunning day.

Low ish but quite clear. SE wind. Mostly sunny. Caught on green gold head nymph using NZ method. Good fly life but only there for 4 hours from midday.

Great looking beat, lots of likely looking pools but other than 2 hook ups that ended up coming off at the lower limit of the beat no fish caught.

Only fished for an hour as the river was low and hinting at at bloom in the deeper pools. Was delighted to get a lovely brownie, just under 1lb, though in a deep pool which took a sunken Wulff fly.
