Some flood debris in pegs, making access a bit tricky. River was in good condition but water temp was only 8 degC resulted in poor fishing

After a chilly start and several moves we fished the deeper swims as the water temperature picked up - 1 Brown Trout, 1 Dace, 2 Barbel but 1 slipped the small barbless hook. Nice day, lovely venue.

1 Trout, 1 Barbel, 1 Other

arrived at 0900 on a cold crisp sunny morning. walked down to the river to discover the other bank was very busy with about 12 blokes fishing which left me with very little choice of swims. to cut a long story short the day was a complete waste of time, mainly ( i think ) because of the amount of noise the "anglers" on the other bank were making, they never stopped talking to each other at the top of their voices all day , they were mainly moaning about the lack of fish, from what i could ( easily ) overhear these guys had travelled from portsmouth area to fish for a few days.
no fish caught .
the amount of anglers allowed to fish the other bank is going to ruin this beat, it is certainly not going to be worth paying £26 a day to fish.

Another very tough day with low and cold conditions. Cold northerly wind throughout the day but we were fairly well sheltered from it at river level. Again not a touch during daylight hours and just one barbel of 6 lbs approx at dusk. Air temperature dropped very quickly as the sun set.

A difficult day with low, clear and cold conditions. Sunny at times with a cold northerly wind and a few brief showers. Had a good take late afternoon but struck into nothing! A good chub of 5.1 lbs last knockings but no barbel.

A tough day! River was very low following flood conditions. Water temperature was low and dropping. Neither of us had any bite indications until last knockings at dusk when we had one barbel each using normal feeder tactics and pellets.

2 Barbel
