Tough day with no bites at all. Strange not to catch as I caught here last week plus the stretch has been fishing very well of late. A previous review did mention the appearance of an otter so maybe the little blighter was still about. Even at dusk not a bite. This is a good beat though and we just had an off day.

Bright sunny day but had 2 good Barbel from the deeper water, and then an otter dancing through the swim that killed the action

The river levels had risen slightly over night and and conditions looked perfect. We caught fish steadily throughout the day on standard feeder and pellet tactics, canoe traffic was virtually non existent. Excellent days fishing in beautiful surroundings. Welcome addition to the WAU portfolio.

Just a quick morning session. Light on bites from 1 swim. Moved and had lots of little chub bites then just before I left hooked a 6LB Barbel. Great looking fish that fought really well. Fish the inside bank with the fast water right of the tree line on the map. Lovely spot with a bit more water than a previous visit. Back there again next week to explore some more swims.

The river looked in good condition and I was looking forward to a good days fishing. Whilst I was setting up an otter rose to the surface in front of me and then disappeared back under the water. It was a quiet day, however I did loose a barbel in the weed later on and missed two good bites late afternoon whilst trying to catch up on the Cricket at the Oval. Still a very enjoyable day watching the abundance of wildlife, look forward to going back soon.
