Much better conditions today, river still low and clear but more cloud cover. Fished pellet and feeder in the fastest flow and produced a few bites and 4 banked barbel.

River low and clear, weather bright and warm. Fished from 16.00 to 22.00.Hooked and lost a moderate-sized barbel first cast, which was both disappointing and encouraging. I then caught a succession of small barbel between about half a pound and a pound. I changed tactics and bait to try to find the larger fish, but it was not until late evening I had a couple around the 5 to 6 pound mark.

Disappointing. Very hot day. Followed tactics employed by recent anglers ie. variety of pellet hookbaits fished on the lead with loosefeed. Barbel all under 1 lb, largest chub about 2lb. Although it was a pleasant setting, I cant say I saw or experienced anything that justified the £23 day ticket price tag. Some swims were unfishable due to their incredibly steep nature, and others involved such a steep step down to the flat level that I (as someone with limited access due to knee injuries) was unable to fish.

River low and clear, and fish found to be in the faster water. Fished small pellets to get bites in the morning, but found that 12mm pellets were best in the evening.

Rained all morning but managed to catch 1 Barbel and 4 Chub on pellet. Despite getting very wet another very enjoyable day on the Wye!
