Arrived at first light, river running low and clear and the day turned out to be sunny and bright.
We started at the top end of the beat and fished in the deeper water. Without any activity we moved downstream. Carl found some fish casting across to the trees on the opposite bank but although he managed 10 chub and 2 barbel all were under a pound. For the evening session we moved upstream again but apart from a chub of about 3.5 lb and a lost barbel activity was limited. 3 anglers fishing from the gravel area on the opposite bank casting across to the trees managed one barbel and lost another.
Mainly fished with feeders and small pellets. Enjoyable day as usual though.

River low and clear. Mostly cloudy with a few light showers. I did not expect a very good day in view of the conditions, but a couple of fish in the afternoon raised my hopes and persuaded me to remain where I was. Despite changing baits and methods I had nothing else, although I stayed until darkness fell.

Great beat, with some good looking swims. liked the short walk from the parking. The river looked perfect and the weather was mild for the time of year. Struggled a little for bites but 3 barbel landed and 3 chub. Wish we lived closer to the Wye, as it's very well run.

A good day for fishing, bit of cloud cover, still a bit of colour in the water, decent push, mild, should have been a good day for a big catch. but just one barbel to show for it, roughly 9lb. Stuck with the feeder/pellet method which was probably a mistake as I ought to have tried meat etc . but it is called fishing, not catching, and is what keeps me coming back year after year. As always, a day out on the Wye beats all my other fishing expeditions hands-down. Will be back.

Weaher conditions a bit better than yesterday with at least some occasional cloud cover breaking up an otherwise very bright day. Cold easterly wind although not as strong as yesterday. River running lower and clearer than expected and it turned out to be a very tough day. Just one chub early (lost at the net)and the 2 chub followed by a barbel of around 6 lb on my last cast. Packed up at 7.45 PM

Barbel first cast and then nothing for the rest of the day. Very hot in the bright sunshine, but still an enjoyable day.

A very enjoyable day soaking in the autumn sunshine. I had a barbel first cast and then it all went very quiet until mid-afternoon, when I caught steadily until the end - mostly smaller fish, but a really enjoyable day. A few fishermen on the opposite bank, briefly, and no canoes at all. Thanks WUF for a great day.

River level on the way down. A warm, partly sunny day. We struggled in the early part of the day but eventually found a few barbel later on. Fished from 9am till 7pm.
