Three tickets for this lovely section, somewhat spoilt by 'anglers' on the opposite bank shouting to each other for much of the day. Fishing was hard, low water levels and very clear but we all caught barbel to a best of 9lb.

We all used feeders with groundbait, boilies or pellets or meat for bait. I liked this venue, as did the other two I went with. I spoke to the game keeper and he was very helpful and a nice chap. I would go back to this venue.

Morning started well with early barbel to me. The sky cleared and got very hot fishing then very hard but when sun went down they came back on the feed: three more for me best around 71/2 and my friend had two more including best fish of the day at 8lb, we both fished pellet and feeder chub were all small about 3lb. Great fishery, very helpful river keeper but some repair work is needed to steps leading down to swims and new swims have not had steps cut which are needed on these steep banks for safe fishing especially when wet; we will be back.

Slow during the day due to bright sunny conditions but we all had a great evening. Lots of pegs at the top of the beat but not many at the lower part. All in all an excellent day, the 1 pike was caught on a static pellet!!

Arrived at 7am fed swim, waited, first cast 8 am, first barbel. 8:10am bites another Barbel landed and 2 lost in tree roots at near bank plus 2 Chub, Bites and fish dried up by 11:30. Fed a swim again at 1pm started again at 2pm 2 more Barbel during afternoon. Same feed and wait again at 4pm and another 2 Barbel by dusk. All on Pellets and feeder or straight lead (depending on weed). Barbel ranged from 5lb to 7lb 11oz.
Last cast contacted with something that decided that it wanted to go to Ross on Wye and I couldn't stop it!!!!!
Great day with weather behaving it's self for a change.

Another great day on the Wye, river well up and coloured 3 foot plus on the river gauge but still found some areas to fish and some feeding fish too! Most to feeder tactics. A few people fishing opposite made some areas a bit tight but a great day all the same. Thank you wuf.

Started off at the lower end of beat where the swims are very difficult to gain access to and had 1 small chub. Then moved to the upper section of beat a lot easier to get into swims and fish....the fishing was slow to say the least, and the weather was terrible - wind and rain with the only rewards for the move was a barbel around the 4lb mark and a decent perch dropped at the net. On a much brighter note if you travel a good way which we do and stay the night before, you wont find anywhere better than "THE OLD MILL" at Hoarwithy, a lovely b&b which I cannot fault and they couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful... coupled with the pub across the road made up for the poor fishing.

This is one of the nicest beats the Wye & usk have on their books, unfortunately we arrived to find swims defiled by previous anglers litter; sweet corn tins, groundbait bags, drink containers and even open tins still full of luncheon meat! I had filled a carrier bag with rubbish before I even thought about fishing, if I was the land owner and found this it would be the end of the fishing......rant over.
WUF Note: Our sincere thanks to SM of Northants for clearing up the litter left by previous anglers. He is quite right in saying that we risk losing fisheries if anglers do not take litter away with them. Please remember that leaving litter is a breach of booking conditions and could result in the culprit(s) being prevented from making bookings on Passport beats in the future.
