Had to rove to find the barbel and chub, which were finicky. Tried several hours with a pike rod, also without success. Lovely stretch and the weather was kind.

River rose a bit during the day, about a foot of visibility and temperature on the rise. No barbel showed, but some obliging chub in fits n starts throughout the day. Not a nibble in the last hour but a very pleasant days fishing.

River high obvs ,fished slack at bottom of beat. Fished feeder for four hours+ not a knock...tried the method and had a bite a chuck....Winter sunset by the river really something to behold.....
