What a great day on the Wye. Caught 9 Barbel the biggest was 9lb 10oz and the second biggest was
9lb 7oz. Lost 9 Barbel to under water bank side vegetation. Wye came up by about 30cm in the days session. Caught on pellet and curried luncheon meat.

The river level has risen half a metre overnight. The influx seemed to deter the barbel.
Only 3 chub between.

The river looked good but bites were very hard to find. Difficult to know the reason but science the level has fallen catches have declined. Only one barbel between two of us. No other fish.

Only fished for a few hours in the afternoon. River was up and coloured, kept moving around and it paid off with a couple of nice barbel and chub.

Funny old day today. First fish after 20 mins fishing was a 10lb salmon that took a liking to my ledgered paste wrapped boilie and put up a hell of a scrap. Hard to get bites in most swims but between us did catch some nice chub, best just shy of 6lb and lost a couple of barbel close in when netting. A bit wet and slippery at times but very enjoyable day on well maintained beat. Will definitely book here again.
