Nice to be back on the river even if it was a wet day. 1 barbel and 2 chubb caught to luncheon meet, the other barbel was to a boillie, all in the middle part of the lower end of the beat.

Very nice to see the work put in to clear the swims giving plenty of space to spread your gear out, canoes were a slight hindrance s as they were close to the back so having to shout out when lines were in the water.

Fished feeder and float with pellet / corn etc from 4.30am to 11am with no interest. High temperatures and river relatively low. Decided enough was enough and left at midday. Lovely stretch of river and well maintained fishing access. Will certainly fish here again.

Barbel caught on Bacon Grill. Chub on casters. Be careful on the bank it’s slippery. I used a rope and spike.

The river level was normal to low for time of year, about 1ft visibility. It was quite mild but rained all day. Started fishing on the crease in the bottom swims which produced an eel on cheesepaste but otherwise was strangely quiet on the feeder and lead. Tried bread, meat and pellet with no success. Roved upstream and caught good chub (3-4lb) from undercut banks. Moved back to the crease at the bottom for the afternoon and started to get knocks on boilie. Was hoping for a barbel. However, the rain and wind intensified and we gave up around 4pm when the brollies took off! Fantastic wildlife - a flock of siskins, chiffchaff, redpoll, Barnacle goose, goosander and buzzards kept us entertained despite the weather.

All fish caught on feeder. The river level was normal winter level and I would have expected more fish.

Just one of those slow days.

Tried various spots and eventually caught at the bottom end casting into the crease between the fast water and the back eddy. 16mm Halibut pellet did the trick.

Just one chub. Water only 7c that's probably why the barbel didn't show
