Not much in the way of fly on the water, at about 1pm there was a half decent trickle of bwo's and true mayfly which I was pretty shocked to see this early! sadly only the odd fish rising to them so stuck with nymphing. average size of trout 12 inches with one nudging 14 inches and all grayling between 10-16 inches. what a difference this river is without any rain water pushing through, gin clear and quite low now and a stealthy approach was needed . All trout and grayling came to single 2.5mm tungsten bead Baetis nymph.

A couple of hours early afternoon on the Llynfi. Water quite low and very clear, very cold air temp. A few sporadic hatches of what looked like iron blues but no fish seen at all. Would have expected a few fish but nothing on this day.

Weather and river conditions same as for other reports today, cool upstream breeze but plenty of sheltered spots, but only a tiny intermittent trickle of BWO's all day. Only trout I saw were the 2 10" brownies tempted from out of the depths on a small weighted PTN. Clumsily stumbled over a boulder when deep wading so had 2 bootfuls of what is still v. cold water... I don't think it is very often that I wish for nicer weather to warm the rivers rather than rain to top them up.

great conditions today with plenty of fly on the water, midge, ldo, march brown but the only rises spotted were grayling in the streamy water. the three trout to hand and the 22 grayling all took tungsten bead nymph on the point of a team of flies with unweighted nymphs on droppers. All grayling healthy ranging from 10-19 inches . water conditions were perfect for nymphing. Was amazed at the lack of activity from the trout

Had a few hours on the Llynfi today, water levels up and running fast, clarity ok for nymphing. thought I was gonna be on for a blinder as 2nd cast one of twelve inches to hand then another within a cast or two of ten inches then not a touch for half an hour. then it was mayhem for thirty minutes with six more around twelve inches. again it went quiet for thirty minutes then it kicked off again and had five more in this period two six-eight inches one twelve inches and two stonkers, one of eighteen inches and one of twenty two inches. All taking 2.5mm black beadhead baetis nymphs in the fast water. There were a lot of LDOs on the water but only two rises spotted in the time I was there

Water levels still running through at some pace. Most fish came between 1pm and 2pm. 2 grayling over 16 inches, others about 14 inches. All trout over 12 inches. All took size 16 point fly, nothing taking the droppers. River at .57 on the gauge, .45 would be ideal to give nymphs more time to work their way through the feeding lanes. Had a couple of grayling on bigger but lost them to hook pulls in the strong current. Still this beat is a cracker and on its day could yield some stonking fish.

Returned for another try. River in better condition and fell considerably during day. Blanked again. Any chance of clearing a way across the double fence part way up the beat?!

Nothing happened until 1.30 then 2 small 8-10" grayling at top of the beat, both tight in to the bank.

First time fishing this beat and loved it. Only spent a couple of hours in the afternoon but a good couple of hours. Grayling 9-17 inches and one very large grayling lost in the fast current due to a hook pull. I enjoyed this beat! perfect for winter grayling fast flowing with some cracking pools. I feel next time will fish for longer to spend more time searching some areas I walked passed due to time. The grayling lost I was gutted at, seeing the fish it would definitely of been a pb.
