Another session on a favourite, really fancied the Arrow, but had the update from Allyson , the NRW will review these closed rivers and the crayfish situation in a couple of weeks ...... conveniently coinciding with the close of trout Season.!!!
Anyway warm earlier today, only had a quick four hours, as bunny bashing on a local farm heading back to Leominster later on .....freezers getting low on venison, rabbit and pigeon, so a top up is needed !!!!! Lol .....
Great dry fly sport, again!! Saw those two chappies had a good day here on Sunday.... probably duo tactics I should imagine .... Their report was somewhat brief !!! And a two pounder .... good fish for there !!! I still love the finesse of my single dry fly ...The accuracy and precision of it .... Fourteen made it to my net, usual stamp for here, Savage lovely takes, only four to risers, .... various tiny size twenty f flies, also initially emergers, then Para dries after one o clock .... A couple of better fish on and off during my session too!!! Doooooooooh .....
As I said quite a bit warmer earlier today.... lots of olives on the go from half eleven .... lovely stuff ... River at 0.104m on the gauge, perfect dry fly height !!
Right, that's me, time to get the .22 Anshcutz ready for laters, bunny bagging exercise !!! Cold drink time my thinks !! Maybe the Duhonw later in the week .... is anyone else going to be adventurous and fish Pontithel ....come on guys !!!! Lol ......

A hard day in bright sunshine and low conditions. Two chub and a barbel on the float from the Boat Pool. Switched to the tip for the afternoon but no wrap rounds. Fished pellet on the float and a mix of small pellets or meat on the feeder on the Wyebank pool.

Visited the beat the previous (overcast) evening and got tips from helpful fella fishing ????. However my day’s fishing was one of blazing sunshine, sunburn and serious overheating! Shouldn’t complain! A few of the chub were over 5lbs, one probably nudged 6lbs, right down to much smaller fish but the barbel weren’t having it and I had to leave before the sun came off the river and barbel prospects may have improved. I also massively underestimated the weight needed to get down, static and safely holding in the deeper far bank areas where the fish seemed to be holding. Newbies note, when your rig stops bouncing along the bottom and seems to hold, you are probably snagged. This is very civilised fishing, fabulous access in dry weather and picnic tables. I wouldn’t risk driving my van down to the bottom in any sort of wet weather though. A somewhat casual day….

A school boy error, went yo Llanddewi about an hour and a half too early !!! Trout looking uo from half twelve.... eleven bells was not breakkie time for salmo trutta !!!
Fished the tip section and a bit below the Camdaudwr Brook confluence ..... River sat at a lively height, watching the gauge, fantastic, and seems to have given the Rocks a goid clean of old algae too....... cracking !!!
Dry fly sport as always!!!! Well, accuracy is key yi success and stealth ...... Twi things that'll stand you in good stead on the wild streams ..... Great fun here as I fished right to thf top of the beat by the wooden cattle fence crossing the river. Good takes to my dry, particularly in tight pocket water ..managed foot or five violent takes to my dry in the smallest pocket !! Plus side is, they've hardly any time to make s decision, food or not ????? I'll chance it.....lol !!!
Fish between six and eleven inches today .... cracking few hours, got out at half two, a fun session when it warmed up !!! Another wild stream tommoz, been nice out with the gossamer 6 foot 2 weight, as I've had a few days on Nantymoch and the Elan Valley ....Cracking fun too ... The best 14 quid you can spend on a days wild brownie fishing is at Nantymoch ....Spectacular views and get the weather right two or three dozen fish in the day ....Lovely stuff !!! Right, coffee time me thinks .......

Wading is very difficult. In most of the stretch it is impossible to get down to the river unfortunately.
