A decision between the antiques fair at Builth, and musing over overpriced boxed B.S.A .scorpion pistols and nodding Knowledgably over "happy clappy" Royal Worcester fine bone china ,OR a session on the Ithon...The fact I'm submitting a report kinda tells you who won the battle !!!! Lol
A Murky very fine drizzly morning, got there at eleven, fished the top section by the Camdwr brook , and actually a bit further downstream too, as saw knowone at the bottom beat parking area. Still hefty beef cattle in the bottom field. I'm guessing they look pretty athletic, so I'd park up and walk roadside down to bridge then cut through ....Mobile burgers weighing 1400lbs can shift !!!
Good insect life from midday lots of olives and tiny sedge on the go... fish looking up, a lot of prospective takes to my dries...with only three cast to risers ..Great fun, nine made it to the net, may have been ten.... but also a few slipped of as well, one was a particularly decent fish ....but your on a loosing battle when they hammer your dry and start swimming towards you fast !!!! Ohhh well he's there for another day !!! Fish the usual size for here eight or nine inches..... nothing huge today, but a fun on the go session!!! Kingfisher up and down, in fact two ... awesome to see as always...... River was sitting at a lovely height too, 0.104m on the NRW gauge at Llanddewi.... perfect for dries...Looks like another weather warning for heavy rain tonight and into tommorrow....Elan Valley it'll be then!! I'm actually up there twice with punters, and Nantymoch next week, lovely job!!! Cuppa time .....

River conditions absolutely perfect today and the weather was just as good but sadly no barbel again, they seem to have deserted this stretch..
Had 20+ chub. They keep you occupied but not what I was fishing for.
Used every bait you could think of over a bed of groundbait. The chub took anything and everything. Meat, corn, cheese, pellet, boilie, bread,.... The barbel are non existent. Lovely beat though. Thanks again.

Tough day but very enjoyable nonetheless. We covered both ends of the fishery but couldn’t buy a bite early on.
The afternoon was more fruitful though. Great fishery, made all the better by the hard work being put in by Stefan. He is also definitely worth listening too if you get the opportunity to chat with him.
If I have one criticism, it is that more ropes are required to help get in and out of the swims at this time of year.

Lots of tiddlers. A nice quiet stretch. I cleared vegetation to a few spots but much of it is only suitable for those of good balance and who are happy fishing in fairly uncomfy positions.

Lovely damp Autumn morning with the brook up a few inches and very coloured from the rain over the previous days. Managed to catch three beautiful conditioned trout up to 9" on a beaded GRHE. Tough going due to the height and colour of the brook especially when wading in unknown areas of the beat. Frustrating also that access is so restricted. Barbed wire to crawl under to access above the bridge! Electric fence all the way up the field to the next public stile where you then have to limbo dance under an insulated section of the wire to head back down the field to my starting point of access. Then more barbed wire to deal with!!! The cows had flattened certain section of the beat prior to the installation of the electric fence which did prove useful. Sign at the parking point warning of a bull being in the field so had to be watchful as I had to walk on his side of the fence prior to starting fishing that area of the beat and obviously my return to the car.
As mentioned, 3 lovely trout to the nymph but after an hour things went very quiet and the colour became darker with no offers.
