Lovely wild stream with gin clear water and some big pools. Spotted lots of little trout but could not catch. Had 1 on for a 10 seconds it took a parachute Adams. Did manage to land 1 of about 6" on a PTN. A great morning fishing.

Lovely day, even the campers and caravaners along the riverside were friendly and interested. Though the river was low and crystal clear, the recent rain seems to have freshened the trout. Found many willing to have a go at a drab Klink in the runs, and I managed to land 6 from 7 to 11", whilst missing many. Saw no rises though. Only frustration was connecting with and then being broken by a large bruiser - only caught a glimpse as he sped past me downstream, so don't know how big, easily snapped my 3.5 lb line. Had to sit down for 10 minutes after that, you know how it is!

In hot, dry conditions the water was extrenely low and I was unable to tempt anything, though a few trout were around in the deepest of the pools. This beat is in serious need of bank maintenance - there are lots of overhanging trees, so side casting is needed for most of the beat and there is a fallen tree about half way upstream completely blocking access.

A quick early morning fish before a days walking on the hills produced two 8" fish on GRHE nymph. Observed a couple of takes from better fish of around a pound to goldhead hares ear only to strike too soon and pull out, must control the excitement next time. Good sport on a short but interesting stretch with cheap camping nearby.
