brown trout 4inches returned ,grayling 9inches returned, River access very difficult. I didnt cover all the length of the fishing but very heavy under growth on banks and overgrowth over head. i was using a 6' 6 rod and still struggled. High taut barbed wire at some of best access positioning good fun if your happy to scramble.

Access to river extremely difficult, barbed wire fences making it impossible to fish most of it. Very nice fishing in the bits I could get to. Had an enjoyable day but better access would make it so much better. Biggest trout 12ins

Started at lunch time after the morning rain.
River quite low now with most fish in the fast water.
Fished duo with most fish taking the #20 jig nymph.
Also caught quite a few minnows so 4 species today.

Started below the road bridge but not much fishable water from the left bank. 3 nice Grayling on the caravan site section then none above the junction pool. 2 trout on the klink the rest on the nymph below.
Some nice water but very overgrown in places and completely blocked in others.

I had 2 concerns about fishing this and the Llynfi Dulais beats: 1, the recent Llynfi pollution spill but the WUF Office confirmed that the incident had only affected the Pontithel beat, and 2, recent reports that the river was choked with trees and guarded by impenetrable barbed wire. I found fish, and found few more downed trees or little more barbed wire than is common on many of the Wild Stream beats I have fished. A good challenge.

Upstream nymphing. Light wt tackle. Stream v overgrown, challenging casting, in fact casting impossible. Access to stream also challenging as bank fenced off with barbed wire and no formal access points that I could find. A rather frustrating day.

River level low, river blocked in some places. For the first time fishing a river quite pleased with my one brown trout caught on a nymph in quite a deep pool.

3 x trout 6-10 inches, Parachute Adams. A couple of hours on the upper section (campsite busy at the bottom end). A few mayfly spinners around, but generally rather slow with very few rises on a hot afternoon.

Not terribly easy access if not wading all way in stream. Good value!
