Had a good go for the Salmon on the fly on the upper part of the beat and spinner in the Rectory pool. Conditions look very good. No salmon seen but plenty of trout rising for the afternoon hatches.
One decent trout of about 1lbs took a fancy to the spinner.

Great relaxing small stream day as a novice angler. Chuffed to catch a grayling, a fish at last after 3 other outings! However, no evidence of trout being present, rises etc. River very clear, with plenty of water but not fast flowing. Next stop with Fishing Passport-Penpont.

Sunny day but still cold. A couple of good LDO hatches that brought fish on the take for a few minutes but I had no takers.
Huge caddis hatch all afternoon but not much rising to them.
Had a couple of takes upstream nymphing but was too slow.
Enjoyable day on a beautiful beat.
