12 x trout 6-8 inches, plus many more smaller parr, on a small Rusty Klinkhammer. A small amount of rain during the night was enough to put a certain amount of colour into the water, although this cleared as the morning went on. A few rises seen, but plenty of trout, mostly smaller fish in the runs at the heads of pools, were generally prepared to be enticed up, so I didn't use the nymph. A very pleasant way to kill a few hours. It's worth noting that this stream, which is barely above sea level, is reliably an early starter although, as it's a Severn tributary, it doesn't actually open until 18th March.

Couple of hours fishing and 3 trout the result, including my first wbt on a dry fly. Really like this beat although it is a little spoilt by the copious amounts of rubbish throughout....you could almost think you were fishing an urban beat.

Lovely day fishing. Two very small brown trout taken on gold-head PTN. Saw plenty of fish, none rising though and couldn't be enticed to take anything. The two I caught were from the same fast-flowing riffle and were taken in quick succession.

Really enjoyed this beat.
1 wbt of around 7" but missed a couple more bites. Saw plenty of fish, nothing bigger than the one I caught but loads of fish rising.
Only trouble was the rising fish had perfected the art of disappearing as soon as my clumsy feet entered the water!

Not a bad day, only 2 small brown trout, one on a Czech nymph and one on a bead head pheasant tail, more seen but soon spooked by my clumsy footwork, over sized rod and lots of dogs throughout the day.
The brook is very littered with debris after recent flooding.

First trip of the season and it was nice way to start; 5 cracking little brown trout 6-8 inches on black magic nymph fished New Zealand style. Great day despite the wind, rain and hail! Nice little river, though it could do with some clearance work; lots of rubbish and debris along the stretch which spoils the beat somewhat.

Worked my way up stream and caught mostly on weighted PTN, had last fish on a emerger pattern as I saw the odd fish rising to the Large dark olives hatching off.

Fished for a few hours today with heavily weighted nymphs, had six and lost as many. No hatch to raise them today, very enjoyable all the same.

5 x trout 6-9 inches, Rusty Klinkhammer. Filling in a couple of hours on a rainy morning - went up about half way. Despite all the showers, today, last night and over recent days, this little brook is still very low and fishing is correspondingly slightly difficult. The Forest upstream acts as a huge sponge and it isn't saturated yet. The upper Wye, on the other hand, has a 2 foot plug of muddy water rushing down it this very same morning, heading towards Hereford!
