Caught six nice brownies around 11oz each but lost two due to trout acrobatics. All fish taken on nymphs as there was no significant rise throughout the day. River was low due to the lack of rain. Lovely location. Will definitely return.

Nice return to the Edw after its enforced rest period. River was found in great condition with a steady hatch and good fishing conditions (cloudy, warm) although water was low. All fish were caught on dry and the final 3 taken from same pool. All returned.
Lovely day.

Lovely weather, 4 on nymphs, the rest on dries, hatches of olives and mayfly. Jingler and mayfly emerger patterns all worked well. Crazy hatch 8:30-9:15 on the lower beat

Perfect May conditions, even if water a little low. Slow start but fish got their heads up from about mid morning, feeding on a steady mixed hatch all day.

Only the deeper pools / runs were fishable given the low water, but plenty to cast at with a mix of barbless dries. Managed 7 wbt to around 12", most in the 6" to 9" range. All plump and feisty. First fish of the year so a bit ring rusty resulting in numerous missed takes. Lovely beat, simple wading, probably about 5-6 hours to cover it nicely.

Mid afternoon start. Plenty of fly life later on but only 1 fish rose which snapped JD’s 3lb fluoro after a protracted scrap. Fish to net took a deers hair caddis ariund 6.30 pm. 2 others had a look shortly afterwards.

River low as everywhere at the moment; but running clear. Some very slippery bedrock at the top end - so be warned !

Several small trout on nymphs and a couple of grayling. My friend caught 2 other trout on a dry fly (olive pattern I think).

The directions seem a bit off - there is no gate "immediately" on the right after crossing the rail track (as per instructions).

Perhaps the Wye & Usk Foundation could check the access description and update it as it seems to be inaccurate to me ?
