First time on this beat.
River low and in need of a flush through. Lots of filamentous algae in the slower runs.
Fished the dry all day, as I had seen a few rises whilst walking to the start of the beat.
Managed to land 2 on a small cdc emerger, from the faster water near top of beat. Also hooked and lost 5 more.
Would definitely book this beat again.
If anyone could enlighten me, what are the "gates" that are strung across the river?

Late afternoon/evening fishing 5pm to 7.30pm. River was fairly low, although still fishable with the water feeling quite cold. Nothing much rising, but the fish were willing to take nymphs and streamers. An abundance of 8 to 11 inch fish and a good handful 12 -13 inch. Some larger fish seen and lost. Great beat!

Did not fish. Even more water coming down, full of silt, quite spectacular and unfishable

River fairly cloudy after heavy rain with lots of sediment already present. A couple of takes on dries but did not connect.

It would be useful to have a better map of the beat - possibly alongside an OS sheet? We saw no fish, but did see two glorious kingfishers.

Walked up this beat, a very few fish rising, though one jumped clear. Again no luck. Good flow and very clear.

Not a nibble! Local farmer reported he’d seen no fish in the past month despite river level improving
