Two scorching days with the river was up 4 inches higher than usual (according to a regular)
Very quiet trout-wise, the two of us only saw about dozen individual rises along the mile-and-a-half stretch, in a couple of the larger pools and under the bridge. A handful of bites (on drys) but missed them all, smh.
Mayfly hatching everywhere. Absolutely lovely beat with camping next to the river, stunning. We will be back, and will 100% bring the waders next time as it's great to walk up away from the banks.

Booked both this and the beat above so was only on here for a few hours but had plenty on short time. Can only seem to put single digits in the form, but had 15 in 3 hours and lost nearly as many. Most came to peeping caddis, but a number on the dry as well (sedge). Most 8-9 inches but two at 1ft. Great day, great beat - full of fish.

Not much happening the few hours there. Limited fly on the water and very bright conditions made it quite challenging. The five to hand all taking single baetis beadhead. Size between 8 and 13 inches with five lost near the net one of which about 13 inches.

I fished for a few hours before lunch and then again in the afternoon/ evening. There were no obvious hatches but the fish were rising to the top every now and then. I managed to loose a couple of hooked fish on the dry before I landed the a brown trout. A great days fishing in a very nice location.

I only managed to get to the river for a few hours from 3pm but there was a hatch of may fly and the fishing was brilliant. Three fish were feeding in a pool near the start of the beat and I managed to hook all three fish and then loose all three fish. I only fished dry fly to rising trout and after another hour or so I manage to land a very nice 8oz brownie. Great few hours fishing. Beautiful part of the countryside and very nice stretch of river.

Enjoyable days fishing however barbed wire across the river in several places made it difficult to move up river

Quite cold higher up the valley, until the sun cleared the mist in the afternoon. River running fast and clear, but not much hatching. So, only saw a couple of rises but I could not tempt them and after half an hour went back to the small gold head PTN. Nothing in the faster shallower runs, but got 3 good 10/11" trout from deep pools and runs. In really good condition, fought hard in the strong current. About half way up the beat be prepared for a couple of dead sheep with the burnt remains of rubbish, not pleasant.
