My last day this season so second beat of the day. Water was low but still slightly coloured. Caught in the runs into the deeper pools on weighted nymphs.

Stream running very low but managed to catch a few small trout all on the dry. A nice chap I met from wye and usk aked if I would report any Himalayan Balsam sightings upstream. I'm happy to say I didn't see any.

A lovely location and seems very under fished. Tricky wading in places on the bedrock which is very slippery.
Plenty of fish in all the usual runs and riffles including a few surprises like a beautiful 12 inch fish from the tiniest pocket gave a great scrap on my 9ft 3 weight!
Fished French leader with 2 weighted nymphs most of the afternoon apart from 1 pool towards the top where a few fish were rising I tried a dry to no avail.

15 trout 6-10inches to a para adams. Wonderful bit of river and probably the best days fly fishing I have had. Abundance of life along this river and probably the most agressive trout I've come across. Will definitely be back to this beat at some point.

Stream coloured after thunderstorms, no fish seen. One big tree down across the stream and a couple of smaller ones making it hard to get past about half way up also livestock barriers across and difficult to navigate round. Fished from 4pm till 5.30pm when I gave up as more thunder storms rolled in!

5 and 8 inch wbt in 5 hours. Super summers day. Changed from 7ft to 5ft rod after short time. Successful fly was black emerger. Steep learning curve for me. First time on this beat, not sure where it ended on the map?

Arrived at 11am with the river low and gin clear and the only small fish seen rising. It was hard going and could have do with more water to fish better. Small dry flies worked. A very nice part of Wales.

Nice little stream, perhaps a bit too small for two anglers. We caught four small trout using small nymphs on a cold day with incessant heavy rain. Then river rose and coloured up so we packed up for an early bath.

Six wbt to 10", all in top condition and released unharmed. Another four were long released and I missed five takes so not a great conversion rate. All fish rose to an olive klink and hit the fly with some force. Just the odd fly hatching throughout the day. Good value for money. Thanks to the Wye and Usk Foundation.
