First visit to this attractive beat. Fished late p.m. to dusk upstream from parking. As WUF says and others have noted, several pools are too deep to wade through and it is difficult to find a way around them so progress was slow. I persevered with the dry fly encouraged by plenty of fly life and the very occasional rise, but failed to bring anything to the net. In retrospect may have had more success with the nymph in the faster water.

Saw that a few others have had some success on this beat so thought I’d try it. Wandered the bottom section Up to the bridge but only saw one fish and no takes. Only had the morning free so will return for the rest another day.
A lot of fallen branches/trees but still a lovely morning out an about

Only stayed for 2 hours as I had to turn back on myself at least 4 times due to overgrown and impassable conditions.
3 x trout all on dry fly .
Be warned, if you go to this beat you will have to jump over barbed wire and climb up and down steep overgrown banks just to get around deep pools and tree obstructions.

Lovely little stream but needs serious management and clearing. The winter floods have meant that most of the pools have a tree of some sort over the best lies. Busting full of fish though.

Two of us fished this lovely fished filled little river, proper jungle warfare stuff, once you’re in you’re in...which was fine until we’d fished our way almost back to the bridge and car where a very deep pool with no way around stopped us. After back tracking we found a way out and walked around a field before finding the road back to the car. After a break we made our way up stream of the bridge and carried on catching, mostly on nymphs with one or two on dries where casting was possible in the undergrowth. Plenty of fly life including Mayflies. A very enjoyable days fishing.

Lovely day, water levels good and not too warm. All fish taken with NZ dropper, mix of dry and nymph.
A little difficult to find the start of the beat.
