An excellent and diverse stretch of river. Arrived at around 09:00, as the rain started to get heavier. Started at the top of the beat, and by the time I reached the middle stretch the water had risen significantly, and turned the colour of coffee. Driving rain and strong wind persisted, making wading a little dodgy. Decided to call it a day around midday having caught nothing. Better luck next time.

Lovely river and great place to fish. Rainy, overcast day with only a few fish rising. Two WBT caught (6-8 inches) with gold head PTNs in the rift right of entry point. Would definitely come back!

Day trip visiting beat after lunch at Bear in Crickhowell. Had intended to fish the Llynfi at Pontithel but this looked too attractive to miss.
Fished from about 3 till 7.30. Did not get to the Triffrwd brook junction as upstream access unclear. Had several takes on small brown dry incl 4 WBT 5-6 inches returned. Copious white mayfly(?) hatch started late afternoon but fish did not seem to relish them - had only one take on a mayfly. No whoppers spotted! Will definately return. The climb back to the road in waders equals a trip to the gym!

Fished from 5am to 9:15 when work intervened and had to go. Lost a fish in front of wood crib, looked bright and about 8-10lb or so. Landed a fish of about 15lb. that had started to just get some color on a flying C. Saw several fish moving in various locations mostly jumpers coming clear out and not much heading a tailing. Never did make it up to the meadow section so may have been some milling around in there, who knows. Water height was great, color so-so. Another lovely dawn on the Wye.
