Cold day with snow and hail. The stream was in good nick though, nice and clear where the main river was in spate. Fished with a 9 ft rod which was okay but probably won't be once the vegetation blooms. Klink and dink with the Klink on a sliding dropper so I could vary the nymph depth. Fished the pools thoroughly but no takers today

1030 - 1300. After midday quite a hatch of fly, but no rises seen.

Fished from 12.00 to 14.00. A few fly about - March Browns?

River water very clear fished from 11am to 4pm nil return. Saw no trout rising and no visible sign of fish. Setting was very pleasant situated in a remote area. Wading was relatively easy water level low.

1 small and 1 cracking 12"wbt on a GRHE-my best wild stream fish of the season.

Fished for 2 hours this morning. The fish were still asleep so nothing caught

Found myself in the area for work so thought I'd drop into this beat which I'd never fished before. I usually fish the Monnow beats a valley or two over, and I was really surprised at how different this river was - bigger and much faster with plenty of water tumbling over rocks and boulders, a real mountain stream. Saw one or two fish rise in the slower sections and there was a bit of a hatch going on, exactly what was hatching I've no idea though. Caught 4 nice fish around the 10" - 12" size on a small size 16 DHE in the heads of pools and maybe half a dozen tiny wee trout in the faster runs. All in all a lovely few hours.

Good afternoon fishing 7 fish to hand 4 / 6 / inch caught on black midge. Met a day ticket holder on the beat although when I checked the website Tuesday night the beat was available. Spoke to the fisherman who was happy to fish the rest of beat. I then left soon after.

Plenty of rises witnessed but no success on a midge.

Good evening's fishing. Good hatch of fly. Used a small size 16 emerger to catch 3 wbt. The canopy is very overgrown and stile at start of beat is falling apart and dangerous.
