Really like this beat for a couple of hours, only did from the bridge to the weir. One nice brownie and two grayling, one was really nice, like to catch her again in October/November. Gold head HA and a small flashback PT were taken. Saw two splashy rises in some really skinny water, a couple of casts and the small brownie had enough and drifted off downstream. A lesson learnt for me, never ignore even the most unlikely looking water.

Couple of hours on a lovely spring evening, 1 oos grayling on a gold bead HE. Nice beat, just did from the bridge to just above the weir. Met the owners, very helpful and offered to turn the electric fence off. Will go back and explore upstream next time.

One knock early in the day, then nothing. River in partial flood, deep and very fast flowing making wading difficult, plus a tree across the river not far up the beat that added to the problem. It was too deep after the weir, so only the lower section was available.

Lovely setting, will go back for another try later in the season.

One good take at the start of the beat by the bridge, nothing after that. The river was in flood, fast flowing, this and a fallen tree across the river just up from the bridge made wading difficult and in some places impossible.

We only fished to the weir as the river was too deep after it, tried to go through the field, but the gate would not open and the there was an electric fence across it!

Lovely spot, will return, hopefully conditions will be better.

Couple of hours in the evening hoping to see some mayfly on the water. Very quiet with only a couple of fish rising above the weir that I couldn’t interest.

A lovely spot for a few hours fishing. 3 small WBT caught on nymphs in a deep pool close the the bridge at the start of the beat, I also lost a large fish in this pool. The section from the Bridge to the Weir is faster running with riffles and pools, thereafter the rest of the beat is slower and meandering, with reasonable access. There were a few small may flies coming off the stream including Iron Blues, also spotted a few Hawthorne flies, but unfortunately no fish rising.

The beat sits within a farm and Nick the farmer was friendly and very helpful, good access for parking behind the Mill. There's currently an electric fence along a section of the beat, easy to get under and around.

Checked the river was running clear before booking due to thunder storms in the area. Did the first 25 yards and caught a fin perfect fish from a little riffle. Was just starting to really enjoy myself and the river turned brown. Shame it couldn't have held off for an hour!

Caught one Brown Trout about half a pound on a klinkhammer with a few Mayfly present perhaps a few weeks too late. Enjoyed a few hours in lovely Hereford countryside. That’s what is all about after all.

I have to agree with the fisherman on this beat a few days ago - access is awful. There appears to be no effort made. I ruined a pair of waders scrambling through nettles, brambles and the occasional barbed wire fence. There is a lot of deep water in the beat, which means wading up the stream is impossible without a snorkel. I also agree that when you can get at the water it is great and looks very promising. I was hoping for a mayfly hatch, followed by a rise. But no luck. There were a few, many of them driven by the wind in the general direction of Leominster, but not a single rise. Such fish as I found were on a nymph, and I hooked one other which it would have been nice to see. And all the time in the background the big mill wheel slowly turning. Lovely beat; pity about the access.
