A fine afternoon in the Llanthony valley, though the fish did not seem to appreciate it, nor the nymphs I threw their way, save for one missed take in a deeper pool.

Stream low but with good flow. Crystal clear. Overcast but warm, around 20 degrees. A lovely five hours. All fish very healthy. Missed a few too.

An unseasonably cold and blustery day for June. Only found a few fish rising, managed two on the dry fly and one on the nymph between us. Despite the weather this beats a lovely place to spend a few hours.

New to the Honddu and first choice was the Lowe Stanton beat but 2 other anglers just beat me to it, so I headed upstream to Lower Henlon and then Llanthony in the afternoon. River level high but clear. Winkled out one WBT of about 10 inches on nymph.
