Afon Eden is a tributary of Afon Mawddach. Running in a mainly southerly direction from Trawsfynydd to Y Ganllwyd where it joins the Mawddach. Drawing water from the Rhinogydd catchment, Eden is a spate river strewn with boulders. The upper beat runs through a raised peat bog which gives the water a slight tea coloured staining. The upper reaches have some deep pools as the river meanders slowly through the peat before increasing in speed towards the lower beat. There are some nice deep pools and glides which hold brown trout. The fish are usually small but there is a chance of a half to three quarter of a pound fish.

There is a run of sea trout and salmon towards the end of the season. Please do not wade the river as it has the highest density of freshwater pearl mussels found in Europe. Wading is not necessary either as the river is small.

The Lower Eden is a rocky section of water with nice riffles and some deep pools, wading is unnecessary due to the size of river but trees will make casting difficult.
