3:40 pm Ty'r Celyn: At 11.05 a 9lb. Salmon caught on an Allies Shrimp in the Boat Pool, Tyr Celyn. Also late report 8lb. Salmon for Matthew Oliver on a Rapala.

10:26 am Llangoed and Lower Llanstephan: Another for Tim Hughes this morning. 12lb fish on the fly, from the Orchard Pool again.

3:20 pm It's raining! So far up to 20mm in some places, though no sign yet of any rise. Late report of a Salmon from Nyth and Ty'r Celyn this month, 7 lb.

9:08 am Llanstephan gauge is showing over 23 degrees C and until this drops it would be advisable to defer any fishing trips. Rain next week could bring temperatures down

11:07 am Our sensors are showing that water temperatures in the upper and lower Wye are now above 20 degrees. While air temperatures are forecast to be at more “normal” levels after today, we recommend people do not book salmon fishing until the water temperatures drop. We will monitor the situation closely and may recommend a cessation of all types of fishing on both rivers should conditions not improve.
