Weather changed every 5 minutes but fish were in the mood. Occasional surface feeding but all but 2 fish caught on beaded hares ear nymph. All by me, my fellow angler a novice, proved impervious to my good advice

9 Trout, 5 Sea Trout

2 x trout at14 inches, Waterhen Bloa and CDC Shuttlecock, 1x out of season grayling 9 inches for HM. Cloudy day with a rather sharp upstream wind. River still extremely low.

2 Trout

Fished from 5-8pm. Warm sunny evening. Two trout caught on the beat near the fishing hut on a dry fly (large olive dun) towards the opposite bank. A few fish rising, just fished the initial downstream part of the beat up to the hut as this occupied the time I had available.

River still very low. No salmon seen. 3 small trout caught on salmon fly.

3 Trout

Despite having risen 30cm after Thursday’s rain the river was still low (0.8m on the Erwood gauge, dropping 5cm during the day). This gave good access to the pools but the flow at the bottom of the beat was a bit too slow to swing a salmon fly. There were hatches of sedges, olives and larger mayflies, and fish were rising to them. Four trout to 3/4lb but no salmon seen or caught.

Enjoyable day good conditions river low, wind in afternoon. Three out of season grayling 2x10" 1x 4" and 1 small trout 1/2 lbs great spot will return

Sunny day but a bit of an annoying breeze. Water very low which gave me a chance to explore the lower end of beat that is normally too deep to wade over the rocks…

All caught on nymphs.

4 x trout 6-12 inches, I x out of season grayling 12 inches, very small CDC dries. River low and clear; sun hot and bright.

Although we didn't catch anything, we had a great day.
I did hook into a small brown trout, but he shook the hook off before I got the net to him.
A beautiful place for fishing

Fishing with a team of spiders hooked up on first cast with a fish that made off with two of my three flies, then hooked a decent trout, that didn’t come to the net because it was in fact a small fry that I’d hooked, which was in the mouth of the bigger fish who let go when he saw the net. Outside of the faster water my flies and leader we’re constantly picking up green algae from the water. Caught a couple of decent grayling on the spiders, and a few small trout on the dry fly.
