Excellent days fishing with all fish caught on the lower half of the beat. All fish caught on spiders with a gold head hares ear on the point. Wind got up in the afternoon and slowed things down considerably. Did try the top end which is normally very good but stones and river bed covered in algae and slime and treacherous for wading. Bottom half of the beat much better. Probably lost as many as I caught with clear water and fish coming short.

Was raining and with a cold east wind made the day difficult. Water level fine but as noted, top of beat very coloured. However, managed a small Trout on Pink tagged nymph. Water mid to bottom was cleaner and across and down produced my PB Grayling 10/12" which took a size 10 soft hackle March Brown nymph. All returned quickly and barbless hooks used.

Very hard fishing, water low and clear manged to connect with one with March brown but didn't get it in the net. Very slimy on the rocks some brown sediment didn't look too healthy.

Lost two fish in the first ten minutes. Was into another one five minutes later but sadly ended up having a early cold river wye bath when I fell in. Completely soaked had to go home with my tail between my legs. Embarrassing or what. I was using hares ear gold head on the point and march brown and greenwells spiders on the droppers. Water very low and bottom very slippery.

Lovely stretch of river, but too early in the year. No sign of trout. One olive spotted, looking lost. Astonishingly beautiful meadow, though

1x trout of around 12", 1 around 8"

A shame some folk (hopefully not fishermen) mistake the parking space for a rubbish tip. Otherwise a beautiful stretch of water.

A bit of a slow, cold day on the grayling front - not unexpected given the conditions. The only fish we saw fell from the sky - this nice brown trout that was coughed up whole by a flight of 5 cormorants that passed overhead.
