A cold day for standing in the water all day for very little action.. but still a better place to be than at work I'd say. Very brief hatch of Olives around lunchtime when the sun came out, lasting just long enough to grab a trout rod, put a dry on & catch one good fish. The rest of the time spent with the salmon rod to no avail.Even the wildlife were tucked up somewhere out of the cold wind. Great to have the opportunity to fish this beat.

First time at the beat, very enjoyable. @1'5" today, perhaps a smidge on the low side to get the best from it, but can imagine it holding fish. No Salmon seen, heard, or caught. Around 2pm there was a big hatch of Olives: trout went suitably bananas.

Cold spring day but river in perfect condition, 1'6 on the gauge and running clear. One very fresh Salmon measured 38", est 21lbs landed from Lady Alexanders Catch at 1400 on a silver cone head Snaelda. Thank you.

River was high but dropped down over the course of the afternoon into perfect height. The downside was the clarity, which did improve throughout the day but sadly no fish seen or caught. Today will be the day, no doubt!

Enjoyed glorious weather but difficult fishing conditions. River clear and running fast but could not contact with any fish on my weighted nymphs. A very small trout which took a weighted nymph and saved me from a blank. Was very impressed with a mass hatch of LDO when the sun made an appearance. Trout didn't react to this. Had a chat with the Salmon angler later in
in the who advised me that previous week river was some 2 foot higher.
