Water pretty clear and just under a foot at Llanstephan. A trickle of flies coming off throughout the day including the odd try mayfly. There were plenty of Yellow Mays that the trout, as always, completely ignored. In fact there were very few rising fish hence it was on bead-head nymphs that I caught the five fish. I had lots of taps and tugs so fishing was interesting all day. Best fish was a trout of about 15". All fish returned.

River low and clear, with a downstream breeze. Various flies coming off throughout the day, but very little rising to them, so persevered with nymphs and spider patterns. All fish were caught using a combination of small bead-head patterns, and either a snipe and purple or greenwells spider. Very healthy fish, all safely returned, and a great day out.

Strange day that promised a lot but delivered little.
Plenty of fly life and fish rising - but could not tempt them. Tried the whole fly box. Ended up with 2 10" wbt and 1 8" oos grayling, one on a small olive, one on a grayling steel blue and one on something small and brown.

It was a very satisfying day. Very productive beat, with good hatchings, a lot of different flies. 6 nice trout caught and released (0.3-0.4 Kg). Well Recommended.

The river was on the low side, but I managed a few fish to spider patterns. There were few fish rising despite sporadic hatches.

Conditions were overcast, and blustery at times. A series of sunny days left the water-level relatively low.
I used spider patterns to begin with. Greenwells Spider proved popular last summer, so I started with that. With no luck, I soon switched to a Waterhen Bloa to catch my first 2" trout.
There was plenty of fly life, including a few mayfly, but no fish were taking off the surface.
I briefly cast a nymph, a Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear, to align with the the supposed feeding habit, to nothing.
My last fly was another spider, the popular Snipe & Purple pattern, to catch one trout no more than 6".
