No salmon caught.

No takes to the salmon fly. Fished for several hours in the evening. 2 or 3 different salmon seen in the Vanstone, others at the top of the beat.

No Salmon but fun with some Chub

No luck with the salmon fly but caught a nice trout in The Maddox. A good fish was showing under the power lines at dusk, as well as several others at the very top of the beat.

A couple seen along the Vanstone but none caught. Great fly height. Right bank access above the Lower Lines/Windmill to the top limit is not possible. Great day out.

A lovely morning, nicely cloudy and cold when I started at 05.00. Several residents playing in Vanstone and managed to turn 3 fish in upper Vanstone, 2 to the fly and one to a flying C, all before 08.00. Nothing moving further upstream and by 10.30 it was very busy with canoes, all very polite, but I have never connected with a salmon at Goodrich Court once the canoes are out. Left at 12.00 when it became very sunny. River level good, below 0.5 at Ross, water very coloured.

Big thank you to Mick. Put me on a couple of salmon they showed but did not take. The raft race forced an early finish. No consideration for anglers or the environment.
