River was high and coloured, so only 2 pools suitable for wading. Several fish seen in The Vanston, one hooked but lost, one 4lb Grilse caught on single hook Willie Gunn. Large group of very noisy canoeists didn't help! Mick's guidance and excellent management of this beat, really appreciated.

Great day with Mick the local Gilly but sadly the only thing that got hooked was myself when Mick caught me on the left cheek when demonstrating his role cast (Ouch!). The midday break at the local pub called the Hostelry was very relaxing. There were several Salmon seen jumping but with the water having colour none taken. Although no fish caught my brother and I enjoyed the day and was kept entertained by Micks good humour.

No luck with the salmon. Popped back this evening went down through the Maddox caught 16lb salmon on flying C only fished for 20 mins then packed up. Lovely beat well maintained easy access to pools. Enjoyable fishing.

The river was a delicate shade of chocolate brown and no fish were caught, we did, however see kingfishers and one salmon.
My guest had travelled many miles so, as the weather was fine, and we took the opportunity to enjoy the scene and watch the world, the swans and the canoes go by.

Lots of Salmon showing, but the water had a dirty colour that put them off. Mick the Ghillie was a great help and put me on fish, but they just were not interested. A mid morning raft race with about 20 rafts. That made more noise than 1000 speed boats, did not help the salmon fishing. They just rowed straight down the middle of the river at pace nearly mowing me down. Stupid, ignorant and dangerous.
