No fish caught today. I was joined on the bank however, by two fellow anglers of the fur and feather variety. A Heron and a Mink were both seen trying their luck. The mink in particular was quite brazen and was not at all bothered by my presence only a few feet away.
The water looked good but only saw one fish rise, better luck next time.

Great location, but I think a little early in the season. Also, due to the recent heavy rain the water was a little fast and brown. Covered the section from top to bottom, nothing caught, and nothing seen. Will try again in a month if we have some better weather.

Fished deep nymphs upstream and downstream fly without success. The compensation was the rich wildlife.

No fish caught, no fish seen, small hatch of light grey/brown Mayfly approx. 25mm long (including cerci, a few caddis larvae and shrimp. Two pairs of grey wagtails, one dipper, a tree creeper, lots of blue tits, two goosanders and a cormorant. Had a pleasant chat with the farmer for about half an hour about farming. Fished for around four hours but didn't see any activity. River running very clear.

River high but clear, czech nymped up beat wet fly across and down, as I came down stream no fish insight very quiet! Was told flooding taken fish after spawning below Brecon and will take a while to return. Still nice to get my waders wet!

A great secluded beat with some lovely pools.

Only fished in the evening. The river was up and I was surprised how much sediment was in the river - it was very dirty. Only saw a couple of fish rise with nothing caught.

Fish were rising intermittently but would not take the Fly an enjoyable day none the less.

1 WBT 6". This is a wonderful-looking beat, and there are some really delectable pools – but there's no denying it is (or was) hard work.
At the lower end, the riverbed consists of granite slabs with surprise deep holes – a wading staff would be really invaluable, and studded soles are a must too.
We arrived at lunchtime and there were sporadic hatches of Mayfly, olives and sedges through the afternoon, with occasional rises to them. We focused on the Quarry and Junction pools, and there is enough here to keep you occupied all day. The fish were quite spooky and difficult to connect with, but at least they are there! And quite often very close to the bank, so stealth is essential.
Finished the afternoon in a smooth glide above the Junction Pool where several fish were rising repeatedly to olive spinners – managed to rise a couple but couldn't connect! Quite frustrating, but I'm sure the rewards are there!
