Back to 22'c after the hot spell. Water v clear. 3 small trout; the Grayling was over a pound, mainly caught on "Dudfield Danglers". (Buggy hairs ear with a bit of flash).

4 Trout, 1 Grayling

Two of us fished from 3pm through to the evening with dries and spiders. One trout and one grayling circa 1.5 to 2lbs and a number of fish lost. River rising and very cool following the dam release above. Shaun the beat owner was enormously helpful and showed us the river.

River really on its bones but fish were obviously in a taking mood, maybe could have done better if the wind had been at the level our crystal ball forecasters had predicted, but all in all a really good session.All caught on many different patterns.

17 grayling, all 11-13 inches, rising well all day to small olives. 3 browns, to 14", best in late evening (9.30-10.15pm)
