Much needed torrential rain in the morning followed by strong wind in the afternoon made for a tough and fruitless day. Beautiful beat though, plenty of variety and easy access. Will try again in better conditions.

Day began warm and bright before clouding over. Eventually the wind drove me home.
I found it very difficult going for some reason…
Both caught on nymphs in the very fast shallow water.

River very low! Nothing hatching. I started with the duo but after catching three Grayling on the nymph I changed over to prospecting with the dry. Three Trout all around 12 - 13” saved the day.

No fish caught. This was my very first time fishing with a fly rod. Hopefully better things to come. Not too disappointed.
A Pleasant way to spend the day and plenty of casting practice. Obviously plenty more to be learned.
