River fairly low but another great late October day. Many small grayling coming to a size 18 Griffiths Gnat and a Para Dun kindly given to me another angler. Picked up 4 good Grayling later on from the tail of the pools on a hotspot PTN, biggest around 16 inches and a good out of season trout. Learning more every time I fish the upper Wye from other fisherman and my own experience. I look forward to next year.

Lovely to be back on this most scenic and accessible beat - lots of small fish rising with which I consistently failed to connect. Had a good out of season trout later on a hares ear nymph. River fairly low today.

A lovely autumn day but a strong breeze made casting difficult at times. Started out fishing duo style with dry and nymph on the dropper, but getting no takes at all on the nymph, so switched to dries only. Although few fish were rising, the did come up to the dry fished over likely lies, and finished the day with 11 grayling, mostly in the 12-15 inch size range. A satisfying days fishing in beautuful surroundings.

Harder going than expected as I had a very good day here last year. Fished Masses Creek without a touch so moved down bekow the island and found grayling in the pool there. Could only touch them on wets, March Brown being the most successful though I missed one on a dry. None of the fish exceeded 10", they seem to be a bit smaller this year.

Had a good day with 8 good grayling and 2 out of season brownies, had 1 to czeck nymph and the rest on the duo, most of my success came from the lowest beat as the river is a little easier to wade. Great day

Fished by kind invitation of S.W. as part of a Kola old boys reunion. Attempted to cure the affliction (salmon madness) by some grayling fishing. Had a great time in wonderful surroundings and with entertaining company. Fished for salmon with the double handed but with low water even in very fishy pools only one brown trout hit the fly. Caught a brace of 1 1/2 lb grayling on dry fly. Not quite as many as some members of the Welsh Fly fishing team fishing with us! Learned a lot from talking and watching them extract fish with consummate ease. Thanks a lot boys. The river started rising next day after heavy overnight rain. The affliction returned and ended up fishing the Elan junction pool feeling in with a great chance until too much colour halted proceedings. A big thank you to owner Richard for allowing us to share this beautiful beat. Another highlight was seeing 8 Red Kites circling like vultures overhead. One of us must have been looking off colour! Great weekend and thanks to all concerned

Had a great day on Craig llyn thanks to Shaun and Richard. Fishing was amazing, lovely water. Fished with Paul Jenkins, Shaun and a few other fellow anglers. Dry fly and nymphing with French leader were the methods of the day with the pheasant tail emerger and silver headed size 14 red tag being the most successful fly. Most fish in the head of the pools in the morning and later on the the day the fish moved to the tails where the hatch began. Amazing beat and looking forward to the next visit. 19 out of season trout caught and released safely and 78 beautiful grayling ranging from 1lb to 2+lb mark.. well maintained beat, thanks again Shaun and Richard!

Tough going today. We struggled to find the grayling until finally coming across a good shoal of rising fish in the Penlanole Pool later in the afternoon. By then the olive hatch had finished and it looked like they were taking a tiny chironomid which, of course, neither of us could match!
A few fish to dries, a couple NZ style and some to nymphs on a French leader.
As always, it was a pleasure to fish Craig Llyn. Thanks to Shaun the owner for allowing us and others to enjoy this special beat.
