Um, interesting.
Although I had 6 fish, they all came from the same pool (Lower Craig Llyn) with not so much as a touch from the rest of the beat. All fish on a tungsten nymph; four on the way down river, two on the way back up. Possibly a day too late/too soon; as the river was running low and gin clear. Said clarity made the vertiginous drop off on the Lower Craig Llyn Pool even more scary; 18 inches to 10 feet (or more) in a single unwary step - frightening.

Picturesque setting, lovely area but not many fish apparent. Caught nothing but enjoyed the experience immensely.

A beautiful stretch of river with some lovely pools. Had some some nice trout and grayling up to a pound and also dropped a few nice ones. Fished New Zealand style and had the majority of the fish on the dry fly. Well worth a visit to this beat. You definitely need either felt or studied soles though to get the best out of this stretch. Fished all the named pools twice and had fish from them each time. Finished the day off watching an otter in one of the top pools.

Three Grayling to 17" and a nice trout to 15" were the picks of the day. Heavy nymphs in morning then klink & dink around midday and a few on the dries prospecting in the afternoon. Beat in fantastic condition as usual. Love this fishery. Thank you.

This is the first time we have fished the Wye and were impressed with the online booking system and detailed map of the beat.
River conditions were good, with clear water dropping from the previous days heavy rain. Saw and cast to a sizable brown trout in Bend Pool, but no luck.
Fished the entire beat with occassional knocks but no fish rising. The long gliding run below Abercymryn Pool didn't fullfil its trouty or grayling potenial, with my one and only trout of the day yielding to a weighted grey shrimp.
Upper Craig Llyn Pool produced the only other trout of the day caught on a gold head pheasant tail nymph.
Look forward to trying other beats in the future.

Was around 10am on location. Did use a 5wt 9ft and caught beautiful brown trout and grayling (most of good size and healthy). Used several different dry flies during the day. Around 3pm until 7pm it rained and became more difficult to catch. In the evening it was dry again and only in the first hour they where raising once in a while. Beautiful location and easy to move along.
