Again a lovely day on this stretch of river,
Barbel coming steadily from a decent sized pool until 4 canoes capsized and fell into the river disturbing the swim.

Had fished various beats all week. This was my last day and was looking forward to a good days catch but got down the track only to be caught up in heavy thunderstorms, waited for an hour checked forecast and didn't look like weather was going to let up so called it a day before track became to difficult to get up. Not what I wanted but that's life. Still had a good week. So happy days.

Extremely disappointed with this venue after a 140 mile round trip with my 2 sons and will not be returning. Unquestionably a beautiful stretch of the river but sadly virtually impossible to get to the river to fish. Clearly not maintained and had to settle for one of only 3 accessible spots. Unless you decide to take on what looked like a very long and exhausting hike over the extremely steep hill with all your gear and back around the wood, which for me was never going to happen.
For the price charged I would expect to have more choice and better maintained sweet ims.
Unfortunately no sign of any barbel, chub were between 1 & 4lb caught on luncheon meat the other were small Dace.

Cracking day after sussing it out the day before. 1 Barbel on the tip around 4lb and 16 Chub running a stick through on the right hand bank. Ranging from 2lb to 5lb. Lots of fish jumping in the middle section.
1 chub and 3 barbel from the lower rapids on the left hand bank for my friend. Chub around the 4lb mark and barbel from 5lb up to a stunning 10lb 4oz ! Amazing day

Found this stretch of the Tees at Barnard Castle very difficult to access so didn’t fish. I noted the advice of the local club that to be careful and use a wading stick but I really think there should be better local knowledge given to day ticket purchasers.
