Dry and overcast conditions. River running fairly clear and low for the time of year. Tried a bit of piking and lost one low double at the net first thing but no other takes.
Chub we’re feeding well on a mixture of baits but mainly maggot feeder and trotted meat. Had a couple over 4lb but most 2-3lb. We lost one Barbel each, one on the float and one on the feeder to hook pulls but they were reluctant feeders today.
Had a bonus Sea Trout trotting. A really nice day again on this beautiful beat.

The banks are ninety nine percent unfishable and the amount of trees and other snags in the river on this stretch are unacceptable . Where are you supposed to put an unhooking mat

Fished hard all day, caught one pike about 12lb. Lost a huge fish due to it throwing the hooks, felt like a sack of cement when I tightened down. All I saw was a great big flash followed by my trace springing out of the water and then a huge boil on the surface. Unfortunately it wouldn't take another bait,..........the monster that got away.

The river looked good and it was a mild, autumn day. Unfortunately, the fish didn't feel as enthusiastic about the conditions as I did, because the fishing was hard going all day. I managed three chub, all around 4lbs but the Barbel remained elusive. However, I enjoyed my day on a lovely beat and the leaves turning colour in Capler Wood are a sight to see. Thanks W&UF.

Only managed to fish for a couple of hours due to unforeseen issues, caught one pike that was probably low double figures
