Had to work really hard to catch the fish today with the river starting at 0.29 then rising to 1.05m within an hour. The fish were hard to catch due to the amount of full sized trees, leaves and detritus moving down stream. Baits could only stay in the river for 2 minuets before they’d get wiped out. With the River rising so much during the day it made a few more swims inaccessible and we weren’t able to wade due to the water being too deep.

A hard but well rewarded day for the both of us. Best at al going 8lb ish and the best chub was 6lb

Fishing into the edge of storm Amy so windy for most of the day with persistent rain. No action from a few swims on the float today but a nice chub of 5lb + & 2 barbel to feeder fished meat.

Caught the fish on consecutive casts early in the session on pellet. As soon as the rain came didn’t get another bite.

Long walk - will pack lighter next time!

We were worried in advance that storm Amy would wipe out the day, but in the end conditions were really good. One of us fished the lucky stone all day for three barbel between 4 and 7lbs. Took quite a bit of leading about to find the deeper hole.

The other one fished the first swim downstream of the woods and had a busy day with the chub. Started small but got bigger as the day went on. Probably averaged 3lb but had a couple towards the end of the day that were well over 4lbs. Thought it was going to be a chub only day, but just before I packed up a 3ft twitch resulted in a barbel of about 8lb, making it a good day overall.
