4 anglers, 2 sharing a swim and rod. A few established swims in the meadow that were flat enough to fish from. Water high and running.

We couldn't risk the drive down the hill to the river without a 4X4 and its a big walk from the top of the hill and back. Nice beat though but there could be anglers on the opposite bank. River in nice condition/colour

All fish caught on spam including 1.5lb Eel through the day,no response to pellet. Temperature 18-20c. Cloud with odd sunny spell. River had good colour after a week or more of intermittent rain over Wales. If you have a regular vehicle that is not 4x4 BEWARE! Only one part of the track has a problem. There is a serious risk of grounding because of deep holes. This meant using the grassed area to one side that is also on a steep slope...conditions were dry i still had problems!! Please why can't the land owner level off the track/fill the holes?

A long walk to the woods as you’d need to be brave to take a non 4x4 down the hill. So travel light or you will regret it coming back up! Would be tight for swims with 4 rods fishing.Chub all between 3-4 lbs, best Barbel 10lb

After the recent heavy rain and high water levels, safety on the banks was paramount as it was extremely slippery under foot. Despite this, the river was falling and was spot on for a bite. We all settled into swims in the woods but the expected bites were slow to come. One of the trio moved swims further back downstream. The resulting move returned 3 hard fighting barbel, whilst the other two rods stayed put and returned 1 barbel each and a chub between them. The venue could be better if more effort was put into making swim’s available. Finally, if you do not have a 4 x 4 in wet conditions, DO NOT attempt to drive down to the river as you will almost certainly not get back up.
