A lovely day weather wise to fish this stretch. Water higher than the previous day. Also noticeably colder from the rain.
Another tough day. But when you fish the Wye there is always a hint of anticipation whenever your there, compared to other rivers we fish. Didn't produce the goods. But would still happily spend a Sunday here catching a few small chub on this lovely beat.

Our last trip to Wye this year.

Had a great day. First time Barbel fishing for two of our group.

Hit the jackpot with the clear blue skies weather and the multicoloured surroundings in autumn were stunning. The river was up and coloured but predictable and steady for the whole day. Fished at the end of the long walk downstream where the Barbel frustrated us throughout the day and four being lost in snags or at the net.

Generally fished with open-end feeder and pellet hookbait leading to 21 chub to keep us going throughout the day. Our single Barbel landed was the last fish of the day.

Will definitely go and have another go soon.

Knew it would be difficult with low temps, so opted for fishing small particles. The Chub certainly obliged, as did one rogue Sea Trout, but the Barbel were elusive. Lovely stretch. Will be back!

Travelled down from oxford to find the river up and fast paced, the croys completely submerged and a lot of leaf matter etc coming down. We managed a small chub at the end of the beat and a small barbel from near the hut. 5oz needed to even hold bottom so not the best, will be back in the spring
