Thoroughly enjoyed the experience again from the previous day on the upper beat. Attracted more chances from better trout but wasn't to be. I interested one of the large specimens that are in the river in the last pool fished at the end of the day but unfortunately he didn't stay on. Belter too. Cracking beat.
Met another angler on the beat and compared notes in the pub later.
Great time had and learned a lot as it was my first time fishing the area. Will return for sure.

Not a peep all day. One large salmon (looked fresh) breached the surface at Little Run. Beautiful day for it.

plenty of clearing water in the river. a few mayfly's hatching and the odd rise but not much else hatching. 4 small trout to the net 2 larger ones lost all on grhe or similar small nymphs. lovely stretch of mixed water river

Fished 3pm to 7pm no signs of surface activity despite there being plenty of insect life on the water,
eventually found a few fish on Nymphs losing one good fish while trying to keep it out of tree roots and a couple of takes that did'nt stop connected for long but no fish landed. river beginning to look a bit low.
