Tricky day fish wise. Only one Chub around 3lb early in the morning. Had to shoot off a bit early at 2.30. Lost something that felt decent just before I left. Lovely spot, saw herons, a kingfisher, Kites and Buzzards.

Day 1 was a very tough day in the deeper slower water. After 3 moves i went into a faster flow and managed a 7lb barbel.

All fish caught on feeder with meat. Fed pellet and hemp but all day very quiet. Caught one early morning and two later afternoon. Lovely spot and great weather. A lot of canoes with inexperienced people on board. Nearly got wiped out 7 times. I wonder if they are briefed on anglers using the river??
Parking in the wood could be better signed with designated bays as I wasn’t sure where to park without blocking the track. The sign at the top of the track that leads down to river wasn’t on display and laid in the grass. Luckily we spotted it. Lovely section of river.

3 fished, 2 sharing a swim. Plenty of canoes that stopped after lunch, all were polite but at least one swim is in a canoe blind spot. River level stable and partly coloured. A local 'expert' reported that the water temperature had recently dropped.

Firstly, what a great idea the Fishing Passport is and the directions and accompanying video were extremely helpful.
Started fishing late morning , the river now is dropping back, had a very enjoyable session with 4 barbel all caught on boilies , the best going exactly 7lb with 3 chub all over 3lb.

4 Barbel, 3 Chub
