over 150 canoes passed us from 9am to 6pm so fishing was very hard, we actually caught 3 individual canoes who didn't have a clue!
River had a lot of weed but flowing fine, we saw lots of Salmon jumping and apart from the very noisy (music blaring) canoeist it was a pleasant day
we tried various baits, Pellet, meat and Cheese but caught all fish on spicy sausage?

As yesterday the barbel were small other than one 7 pounder and again were caught just above the bottom crib on single 8mm pellet being spicy sausage, halibut or krill. We thoroughly enjoyed our fishing and the easy access from car to peg was particularly welcome.

2nd trip to this lovely stretch of water. Fished through the wooded section and managed 6 barbel the biggest of which was about 6lbs.
All fish came to meat either rolled through the swim or fished on a static leger.
Would definitely come back!

Spent the day on this beautiful stretch of the Wye.
Boat traffic was very busy but dropped right off after 3 in the afternoon.
The river was still very low and sluggish in most places but found a spot through the wooded section where I managed to catch 4 barbel with the biggest approximately 6 pounds as well as losing a couple of others. Also had one decent chub of about 3lbs as well as a number of 'chublets' and an eel.
All fish were taken on meat 'rolled' through the swim.
Would definitely return as it was just a pleasure to spend the day in such pleasant surroundings

Lovely beat, great variety of scenery and the fishery manager is very friendly and helpful. Fishing the meadows area had one barbel around 6lb and a few good chub. My brother lost a barbel in the bottom pool but banked a few good chub. Stayed at the highly recommended 'The Hostelrie at Goodrich' which is well priced and extremely well placed for this fishery.

Despite the heavy overnight deluge of rain, anticipation was high unfortunately it made no difference and with a bright sunny dawn made conditions extremely difficult in finding the fish. The canoe traffic was very heavy with most being very considerate and apologetic when tangled in my line, at one point I could not get a rod back in the water for @ 40mins due to the high consentration of various crafts.
Cracking beat, access to most if not all swims was very good with a variety of steep and good firm banks, direction to the beat were spot on m, well done WUF . Came away early due to the heavy canoe traffic, no fish this time but looking forward to returning after some welcome rain.

Last of 3 days fishing on the wye & Usk Foundation and First visit to Thomas wood,
Well done on doing an adult & child ticket, as most beats don’t!!! The river was up again, and had a tinge of colour, so a bit more confident than the previous 2 days. Peter the fishery manager came not long after we arrived, and was more than helpful, showing us around the fishery, seemed very passionate about his job, and I could tell he was really hoping we might catch a barbel or 2! Unfortunately we didn’t,but still had an enjoyable day, my lad had 5 dace whilst doing some trotting, and the last hour as it was getting dark we had 2 chub each with a pb for my lad of 3lb 6 oz he was over the moon and that’s what it is all about, this is a beautiful stretch, and as described, I would recommend the wooded stretch a bit more pace, a lot of canoes but no problem, I would come back to this beat!
