Blank as far as springers were concerned, but an interesting and pleasant day all the same. 2 x very well mended kelts, both at 34 inches, taken by spinning - if I read the map correctly - Smoke House and Four Oaks pools, plus several hefty trout at the bottom end. Fresh salmon were seen moving in a number of places including at least one twenty. There is a lot to learn about this beat, which hasn't been fished seriously for salmon for a long time. Many thanks to Adam Fisher for inviting me to fish the owner's rod.

Two small class well mended kelts and one good size trout caught spinning, although most of the day I spent with a fly rod. No harm in trying given the fact that water was very good in terms of colour and rocks and woods surrounding Severn Sisters offer very good wind protection. Thank you.

Two inexperienced Salmon fisherman refusing to get out the spinning rod! Not the easiest fly water but some lovely runs which will no doubt become more productive if it ever warms up. A real bonus to be able to drive the whole length of this long beat. Beautiful surroundings especially as there were no canoes or coarse fisherman!! Spoke to the owner and another regular on the beat who were very pleasant and helpful. Unfotunately their advice came too late in the day to save a blank. Will be back soon.

Didn't see any fish moving. Fished from 11 till late but didn't manage to cover all the fly-fishable water.

Caught a 14lber on a red Flying 'C' from Martin's Bar (far bank). Bumped another one off and saw fish moving in a 'porpoising fashion' off the tail of Martin's Island. Out again tomorrow!

Not a chance; river was in flood, a raging brown torrent. Lovely place though, I'll be back.

Beautiful day in stunning scenery saw one salmon roll but caught none. Have to fish this beat before the canoes take over. Took advantage of the free tickets before March 14th and a big thank you to the Wye & Usk Foundation, it was a wonderful adventure.

Water level pretty low so wading relatively easy. Access points to the river clearly market by yellow marks on stumps etc. Shame no fish, next time!
